Aero Pure A515A OR Quiet Bathroom Exhaust Fan with Heater and LED Light - Oil Rubbed Bronze Finish | Energy Efficient Ventilation for Bathrooms, Laundry Rooms & Small Spaces

I paid an electrician to install this item as I needed new wires to be installed and was replacing a regular fan. Therefore I don't know how hard it was to install. I only need a small area warmed and the two lightbulbs put out plenty of heat. My main reason for buying this brand was that it was listed as being quieter than the competitors. I don't know if the electrician did something wrong but find it is noisier than my old cheap bathroom fan.- I attached the middle light to the main bathroom light switch. So all I needed was a large bathroom light switch which turned on my bathroom lights and the middle Aero Pure light. Then beside it I installed a double switch (tossed out the 3 swtich panel that came with it)The double switch was higher quality and by connecting the middle light to main bathroom light you eliminate a redundant switch. I like have a large bathroom light switch and two smaller ones for the heat and fan.- You need to run a main wire directly from the Aero Pure to the breaker box. It's for that reason that you should call an electrician even if you are handy. You can not simply run it to the main light switch to draw power.- The heat lights worked great but I still swapped them out for hotter lights as I have high ceiling. I dont know if I needed to do this, I just opted to before hand so I dont have to think about it again.- I ran the exhaust tube all the way to outside the residence so the water vapors are not going straight into the attic/crawlspace. It against code in many cities to run it straight to an attic so Im not sure why some people are advising to do this. Spend $20 more for the exhaust tube and take it outside.- One issue we had was being able to cover the wires with the internal metal wire cover piece because there are so many large wires running into the same section.- This product works great. Highly recommended.I've had this bathroom heater fan installed for close to one year now. After initial installation the fan was VERY loud. It was a medium LOUD whistling sound. I tried all sorts of things to correct it. The factory had no idea what was going on after explaining my installation. I did replace an older fan unit that has a 6 inch vent hose to the outdoors so I had to purchase a 4 inch to 6 inch adapter. that wasn't the issue since I tested it just blowing into my attic. I did notice that any type of backpressure created this sound. Also if I removed the two heat lamp bulbs the sound would virtually disappear. In the end after many hours of fooling around I was able to correct the problem by making a baffle out of aluminum flashing that consisted of a round disk of about 5 inches in diameter mounted to the inside of the unit just above the room light bulb. For some reason some type of resonance was occurring which this disk corrected. We do like the unit but it was a hassle to get it quiet.This item is being installed in a small Master Bath which is being renovated. We have not yet actually used it, but it seems to be well built and fairly well designed. The one problem that I see is that the light is only 60 watts and will take only an incandescent bulb. There does not seem to be room for a florescent bulb which would give more light at that wattage and last longer.There are other light sources in the bathroom, but with only this fixture, to get decent lighting for the room you would have to run the heat lamps as well as the light which would be OK in winter, but HOT and wasteful in summer, spring and fall. I would like to see the single light source upgraded to something equal to 100 watts.As far as the adequacy of the heat lamps, we cannot comment on that until we have actually used them for a while.I hope this feed back is going to the manufacturer.Install depends on your progression of construction. Brand new install is very easy. Existing light only but now have a fan/light is a lot of work. Drywall, muddying and wiring will be required. All in all good product.well made unit and quiet. The only thing not perfect is that the room light bulb is not centred on the lens cover so it is brighter towards one side of lens than the otherWorks Great & Worth the Money
